Why get a doula? Is it really necessary?

Expecting Parents let's have a heart to heart.

❓

I get asked so frequently about what exactly a doula does and why it is necessary. So here's a basic breakdown:

💥

You don't go to court without a lawyer, Right? Of course not, because you don't know the law's ins and outs to defend yourself.

💥

Then why are we going into the Healthcare system (like the judicial system also not for us) to have our babies without an advocate AND uneducated?

💥

Just like in the legal system, a privately hired lawyer is going to be so much better than the public defender toss up.

💥

You are literally throwing yourself on the mercy of the court when you "just do what my doctor says."

💥

Stop leaving you and baby's lives up to chance by winging it.  Make the choice to get the doula!

💥

Prioritize it ahead of the 4 baby showers, 3 photoshoots, babymoon, and the gender reveal----all of that could have been your doula! Those are nice experiences, however none of them have the capability to save your life, however that doula sure can!

💥

I'd rather see you in real life safe and sound holding your baby than using your maternity shoot photos at your memorial with your name as another hashtag or be so traumatized you vow to never have children again.

💥

Yes it's that deep! If you have an expecting loved one come together and help them get a doula.

💥

Put in $5,$50, or $500 until they have what's needed to walk into their birth experience protected with a knowledgeable professional on THEIR side with no hidden agenda.

✅

Judicial System = Healthcare system

Courthouse = Hospital

✅

Judge = Doctor/midwife

✅

Public defender = Nurse

‼️

Private attorney = Doula

Do we see how this works now? Somehow people always leave the last one out and it's vital.

If you've made it this far thanks for taking the time to hear me out. I'm a labor and delivery nurse and know that everything I say is for a reason. I see what you can't
